Fernando either takes a risk with Mclaren-Honda (assuming the Ron Dennis relationship has mended) or pretty much guarantees another 3rd or 4th place in the WDC next year with Ferrari.

I'll be very surprised if he leaves Ferrari. To be honest, even though the car hasn't been too great the last few years, he has a good thing there. The team obviously strongly favors him, and, while talk may seem cheap, he has stated many times that he likes it at Ferrari and doesn't plan on leaving. As for McLaren, while the new Honda engine seems like a big draw to go there, they've been in a bad way the last couple years. It doesn't make sense to leave a team that he's well rooted in to go to one that's been pretty shakey the last few years (and one he doesn't have a particularly pleasurable past with) and overall I seriously doubt his chances for a WDC are better at McLaren next year than they are at Ferrari.

Here's why Button won't be canned: he outscored Hamilton as teammates from '10-12, he beat Perez, Magnussen, he isn't that expensive, he has ties with Honda, he's mature and respects Alonso, and the two will bring experience and stability. In' 16, Button out for Mag or Vandoorne
